About

Truro is the capital of Cornwall and has been the center of the county’s fortunes and industry for over eight hundred years.  This small town grew up around a hilltop castle by Richard Lucy, a minister of Henry II’s, and although the castle no longer exists, the town is a perfect example of how good things come in small packages.  The town’s ideal location at the confluence of the Allen, Kenwyn, and Truro Rivers is what makes this small town a hotbed of industry, retail, and urban excitement. And do not be discouraged by the small population, there is an active gay community in Truro that will happily point you in the way of the Truro gay bars.

The history buff will love all that this quaint English town has to offer. You will want to be sure to check out the gothic revival Cathedral that was designed by John Loughborough Pearson in 1880 and rises over 250 feet above the city.   For those of you that are inspired by Georgian architecture, you will want to visit the terraces and townhouses along Walsingham Place and Lemon Street as they are touted to be the finest examples of Georgian homes in the city.  After you have spent your days checking out the relics of Truro’s past, be sure to unwind and relax your evenings away in Truro gay bars.
